Apnée au Féminin

More than freediving - A community where women grow together

What began as a small coaching project has become a growing community of women brought together by a shared love of freediving, a desire to learn, and the belief that we are stronger when we support one another.

Apnée au Féminin is about confidence as much as performance. It is about sharing knowledge, celebrating progress, and creating a space where every woman feels welcome - whatever her experience, goals or background.

This is only the beginning.

“I realised this experience was going to bring us much more than technical skills. I know we’ll all come away from it having grown, both as freedivers and as people.”
— Emma - 2026 Cohort

THE STORY

The project began as part of my BPJEPS instructor training. My goal was to coach three women from my freediving club in Nice over three months and help them build confidence in the water. I expected a few applications.

Instead, dozens of women reached out. Their motivation letters spoke about self-doubt, equalisation challenges, fear and the desire to feel supported. I quickly realised they weren't simply looking to dive deeper - they were looking for a community. In the weeks that followed, women I had never met came up to me at the club to tell me they had joined CIPA after seeing the project online. That was the moment I understood Apnée au Féminin had become something bigger than a coaching programme.

Why It Matters

Throughout my career, I have met extraordinary women in freediving, but I have also seen how many quietly underestimate themselves. Often, the obstacle isn't talent - it's confidence, access to guidance and the feeling of belonging. Apnée au Féminin was created to offer a welcoming space where women can learn, ask questions, share experiences and grow together, whatever their level.

“Being surrounded by women with such different personalities and ambitions is incredibly inspiring. It encourages me to believe more deeply in my own projects and move forward with confidence.”
— Laurie - 2026 Cohort
“I didn’t feel very legitimate being there because of my lack of experience. But the kindness of the group immediately gave me confidence.”
— Bénedicte - 2026 Cohort

MEET THE 2026 TEAM

“I’m so grateful to be part of this group. It’s incredibly enriching to know we can rely on one another, both in and out of the water.”
— Jeanne - 2026 Cohort

More Than Coaching

One of the most rewarding parts of the project has been discovering how much every participant brings to the group.

Psychologists, physiotherapists, yoga teachers, entrepreneurs, photographers and coaches have all shared their expertise, turning the project into a true exchange of knowledge. Here, everyone is both a learner and a contributor.

“Simona takes the time to explain every detail and makes sure each of us progresses at our own pace. It’s a real pleasure to be part of this adventure.”
— Amal

looking ahead - JOIN THE COMMUNITY

Apnée au Féminin is continuing to grow beyond its first edition.

The vision is to build a year-round community through coaching, workshops, guest speakers, community dives and meaningful collaborations. Alongside this, I will also be developing intimate retreats that combine freediving, wellbeing and personal growth.

If this project resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you.
